The currency of Japan is the Japanese yen (JPY) . It is the third most traded currency in the world and is widely used as a third reserve currency after the US dollar and the euro. The yen is divided decimally into 100 sen or 1,000 rin, but sen are not used in everyday life anymore. Bank of Japan notes and coins currently issued include the 10,000 yen note, 5,000 yen note, 2,000 yen note, 1,000 yen note, 500 yen bicolor clad coin, 100 yen coin, 50 yen coin, 10 yen coin, 5 yen coin, and 1 yen coin.
