The dinosaur with 500 teeth is called Nigersaurus. This dinosaur is a long-necked sauropod that lived in what is now the Sahara Desert around 110 million years ago. Its skull is characterized by an unusually broad, straight-edged muzzle tipped with more than 500 replaceable teeth. The teeth were arranged in dental batteries, with 68 columns in the upper jaws and 60 columns in the lower jaws. The enamel on the teeth of Nigersaurus was highly asymmetrical, ten times thicker on the outwards facing side than on the inner side. Nigersaurus had a delicate skull and an extremely wide mouth lined with teeth especially adapted for browsing plants close to the ground.
