To be eligible for NEET (UG) 2024, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Nationality: Indian, Persons of Indian Origin, Overseas Citizens of India, Foreign Nationals, and Non-resident Indians are eligible to apply.

Age Limit: Candidates must have attained the age of 17 as on December 31, 2024. There is no upper age limit for NEET.

Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed the 12th standard examination with Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and English subjects. For general category candidates, it is mandatory to have secured 50% marks in 12th standard, while SC/ST/OBC category candidates have to secure 40% marks.

Number of Attempts: There is no limit on the number of attempts for NEET. Candidates can appear for NEET as many times as they fulfill the eligibility criteria.

Other Requirements: Candidates who have passed 10+2 from Open School or as private candidates are not eligible. Candidates who have completed their education from outside the country must fulfill the NEET eligibility criteria. The last examination which has to pass by NRI/Foreign students should be equivalent to Class 12 qualification in their respective country. Candidates should have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology and must have passed the theory and practical test in each of these subjects as well as English in the qualifying examination.
