The FA Cup, also known as the Football Association Challenge Cup, is an annual knockout football competition in mens domestic English football. It is the oldest national football competition in the world, having been first played during the 1871-72 season. The tournament is open to any club from the Premier League all the way down to the 10th level of English football. The winner of the FA Cup receives the trophy, which is only loaned to the club by the FA and must be returned by March 1st, or earlier if given seven days notice. The tournament has a storied history and is met each year with excitement from clubs big and small across the entirety of England.
