According to the Farmers Almanac, winter 2023-2024 will be colder than normal in December (4° below average) and January (4° below average), although February will be just slightly below average. The Almanac predicts snow, seasonable cold, and all of winter’s delights across North America. The Southeast will see a wetter-than-normal winter, with average winter temperatures overall, but a few frosts may send many shivers to snowbirds trying to avoid the cold and snow back home. Snowfall across the most snow-prone regions will be above normal except for in the Pacific Northwest. The coldest temperatures are predicted for late December and early to mid-February, and the best chance for snow occurs in late January and mid-February. However, much of the United States coastline, including New England, Florida, and parts of the Pacific Southwest will experience mild to cool temperatures.
