The full form of BSF is Border Security Force. It is a paramilitary force of the Government of India and is among the seven Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) of India. The primary role of BSF is to guard Indias international borders with Pakistan and Bangladesh, as well as its internal security in Jammu and Kashmir and other designated areas. BSF was established on December 1, 1965, as a unified central agency to ensure the security of Indias borders. It is currently the worlds largest border security force. BSF has its own Air Wing, Water Wing, Artillery Regiment, and specialized units. The force is under the administrative control of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
