The full form of CAT is the Common Admission Test. It is a computer-based examination conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) to shortlist candidates for postgraduate management programs. The exam consists of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Ability. The test is taken online over a period of three hours, with one hour per section. The eligibility criteria for the CAT exam include holding a bachelors degree of not less than 50% or equivalent CGPA, and 45% for SC (Scheduled Caste), ST (Scheduled Tribe), and PWD (Persons with Disabilities) or DA (Differently Able) category. The CAT exam is conducted once a year.
