The full form of DSP is Deputy Superintendent of Police. DSP is a police officer grade in the Indian police force, and is represented by the national emblem above one star on the shoulder strap. According to state government laws, a DSP is comparable to an ACP (Assistant Commissioner of Police) and may be promoted to an IPS after a few years of service. To become a DSP, candidates must be citizens of India and pass the State Public Service Commission’s state-level test. Before being posted as DSPs, individuals who pass this exam undergo probationary training.
