The full form of EVS is Environmental Studies or Environmental Science. It is a field of study that focuses on the interactions between the natural world and the human population. EVS encompasses a wide range of subjects and attempts to teach students about the day-to-day life in the earth’s atmosphere. The environmental components comprise everything that supports life on the planet earth directly or indirectly that promotes human survival. EVS is taught as a subject in schools, generally from 1st to 5th standard, and is included in Science thereafter. It is a scientific study of the environment in which students gain specialty in the subjects and issues related to the natural environment and its relationship to people. EVS not only includes the physical or biological characteristics of the environment but also the social, cultural, and other factors that affect the environment. It is a multidisciplinary academic field that studies human interaction with the environment in a systemic way.
