The full form of KGF is Kolar Gold Fields. It is a gold mining area located at the Bangarpet taluk in Kolar District of Karnataka, India. KGF was one of the major gold mines in the world and was also referred to as "Little England" by the then British population owing to its pleasant weather and mesmerizing landscape. A golf course was also established in 1885 at KGF for British employees of the gold mines, and it is registered under the Indian Golf Union. KGF is also the name of a 2018 Kannada language film directed by Prashanth Neel.
