The full form of LCD is Liquid Crystal Display. LCD is a flat-panel display technology that is primarily used in TVs, computer monitors, and mobile phones. It is a passive device, which means that it does not deliver any light to display characters, animations, videos, etc. . Instead, it uses fluorescent tubes to lighten the picture, but it cant provide a clearer picture as LED delivers. In LCD display, it consists of millions of pixels made of crystal and arranged in a rectangular grid. Each pixel has a red, green, and blue (RGB) sub-pixel that can be turned on or off. LCD is a digital display that addresses each individual pixel using a fixed matrix of horizontal and vertical dots. The quality of the image is not degraded as LCD scales the image according to the resolution the device provided. The brightness of the LCD is measured using nits, which is defined as one candela per square meter. LCD requires external light sources to illuminate the screen.
