It is a device that displays text and graphics on a screen, and is commonly used in computers to display the output of the computers processing unit, allowing the user to interact with the computer and see the results of their actions. A VDU typically consists of a screen device, and components such as a processing unit, keyboard and mouse can be connected to it. In the USA, VDU is also known as the video display terminal (VDT) .
