NNPC stands for Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation. It is a state-owned oil corporation established in 1977 and the largest asset holder within the Nigerian oil and gas industry. NNPC is responsible for harnessing Nigerias oil and gas reserves for sustainable national development. It explores, produces, refines oil, and markets and partners with foreign oil companies to exploit Nigerias fossil fuel resources. NNPC has three refineries, in Port Harcourt, Warri, and Kaduna, and strategic business units focused on exploration and production, gas development, distribution, engineering, and commercial investments. NNPC is currently transforming from a traditional oil and gas company into an integrated energy company with interests in power generation and transmission.
