The last date to exchange or deposit Rs. 2000 notes in banks was October 7, 2023. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had extended the last date from September 30, 2023, to October 7, 2023. After October 7, 2023, the notes can only be exchanged with the RBI. However, Rs. 2000 notes will remain legal tender even after October 7, 2023.
