It is one of the simplest and most straightforward wagers in sports betting. Unlike point spread bets, money line bets do not involve a point spread, and the bettor only needs to pick a winning side. The term "money line" represents the payouts for winning the bet, with a negative integer for the underdog and a positive one for the favorite. The odds for a money line bet are represented by integers that show the payoffs for betting on a game. Bookmakers separate out teams into favorites and underdogs, and the odds for each team reflect their chances of winning. If a football game had a money line of Team A (+150) and Team B (-170), then the bettor immediately knows that Team B is the favorite, and a $170 bet on Team B would pay out $100 if they win. A $100 bet on Team A would pay out $150 if they win. Money line bets can have two or three outcomes, depending on the sport. When there are two players or teams listed on a money line bet, bettors are choosing one player or team to win. In the case of soccer or a boxing match/MMA fight, money line bets could also have a third option, which is a "draw," in which there is no winner or loser. Money line bets are considered to be the least complicated kind of bet because what is at stake is so straightforward: who will win.
