The group 0 elements are called the noble gases. They are non-metal elements located in the far-right column of the periodic table. These elements have a full outer electron shell, which makes them extremely stable and unreactive (inert). Because of this full outer shell, they do not easily form compounds with other elements. The noble gases include helium (He), neon (Ne), argon (Ar), krypton (Kr), xenon (Xe), and radon (Rn). Their lack of chemical reactivity is a defining characteristic that earned them the name "noble gases" or sometimes "inert gases".
