The name of the Elvenking who rules the Woodland Realm in The Hobbit is Thranduil. He is also known as the Elvenking and is the ruler of the Silvan Elves of Mirkwood. Thranduil is the son of Oropher and the father of Legolas. In The Hobbit, he is described as sitting on a chair of carven wood in a great hall with pillars hewn out of the living stone, wearing a crown of berries and red leaves on his head, and holding a carven staff of oak in his hand.
