The new sphere in Las Vegas is a spherical music and entertainment arena called Sphere at the Venetian Resort, designed by Populous). It is located near the Las Vegas Strip and east of the Venetian resort, and is the worlds largest spherical structure, at 516 feet wide and 366 feet tall. The venue can hold up to 20,000 people and will be used for live music acts, film, and special sporting events. It contains an immersive display plane that wraps up over and around the audience to create a fully immersive visual environment, designed to program four out of the five senses: sight, sound, touch, and smell. The entire experience is designed to be fully immersive and revolutionary. The Sphere was announced by the Madison Square Garden Company in 2018 and was initially a partnership between the Madison Square Garden Company and Las Vegas Sands Corporation). The project cost $2.3 billion to construct and was built for immersive experiences in cinema and performance.
