The minimum salary for an NFL player varies depending on their experience and contract status. As per the leagues Collective Bargaining Agreement established in March 2020, NFL players’ minimum salary measured up to $660,000 in the 2021 season, which went up to $705,000 in 2022, and is currently $750,000 in 2023. However, this amount applies exclusively to NFL rookies during their debut season. As they advance, the minimum rises to $870,000 and $940,000 by the third year. For players with four to six years of experience, the minimum salary is $1.08 million, and for those with seven or more years of experience, it is $1.165 million. It is important to note that this minimum figure doesn’t guarantee that a player will receive the entirety of that amount, as players who spend every week of the NFL year on the active 53-man roster will get their full allotment, but if a team cuts or puts a player on their practice squad, the amounts change drastically.
