The relative mass of a neutron is approximately 1 atomic mass unit (amu). It is slightly heavier than a proton but for most calculations, the relative mass of both a neutron and a proton is considered to be 1, while the electron's relative mass is negligible (about 1/1840 of a proton or neutron).
