Timon is a meerkat character from Disneys "The Lion King". He is known for his quick wit, humor, and carefree attitude. Timon is the adoptive uncle of Bunga and Simba. Initially, he lived with his colony in a territory outside the Pride Lands. Timon and Pumbaa, a warthog, are an animated duo introduced in Disneys 1994 animated feature film "The Lion King" and its franchise. They starred in their own spin-off television series, "The Lion Kings Timon & Pumbaa". Timon serves as the comic relief in "The Lion King". His lighthearted and carefree personality contrasts with the more serious and dramatic moments in the film. Timon and Pumbaa befriend Simba when he is exiled from his pride, and they teach him their motto, "Hakuna Matata," meaning "no worries". Timons friendship and humor provide Simba with the support and encouragement he needs to face his past and take his rightful place as king. Nathan Lane voiced Timon in the original animated film.
