TQWL stands for Tatkal Quota Waiting List, which is a type of waiting list ticket status in Indian Railways. It is issued to passengers who book Tatkal tickets, which are emergency tickets that can be booked 24 hours before the trains departure and have higher charges. TQWL was formerly known as CKWL. If all the berths available for Tatkal quota are exhausted or issued during the Tatkal ticket booking slot, then TQWL is issued to the passengers if required. However, the probability of getting confirmation of TQWL is very low. During the final chart preparation process, General Waiting List (GNWL) status tickets are given preference over TQWL status tickets. Therefore, TQWL confirmation chances are very less. If a Tatkal ticket for the journey is cancelled, the TQWL goes up directly and doesn’t go through RAC status.
