Two-step verification is an optional security feature that adds an extra layer of protection to your WhatsApp account. When you enable this feature, you create and confirm a unique six-digit PIN that is required to access your account. The two-step verification PIN is different from the six-digit registration code you receive via SMS or phone call. You can enable two-step verification by going to WhatsApp Settings > Account > Two-step verification > Enable. You also have the option to enter your email address, which allows WhatsApp to email you a reset link in case you forget your PIN and helps safeguard your account. To manage two-step verification settings, you can enable or disable the feature, change your PIN, or update the email address associated with it. If you forget your PIN, youll need to wait seven days before you can reset it. WhatsApp will prompt you to periodically enter your PIN to help you remember it. Note that the two-step verification system works on both Android and iPhone devices.
