UberX Share is a ride-sharing service offered by Uber that allows riders to share a ride with other passengers heading in the same direction. When a rider chooses UberX Share, they opt-in to share their trip with other riders and receive an upfront discount of up to 20% . The service is designed to move more people with fewer cars, helping cities avoid extra emissions and car travel by sharing rides.
To use UberX Share, riders can open the Uber app, enter their destination, and scroll down to the UberX Share ride option. The app will try to match the riders car with other riders heading their way. If the rider is matched with a co-rider along their route, they can get additional savings. UberX Share is available in select regions and may not be available on all dates and/or times of day.

Drivers can also participate in UberX Share by selecting it in their driver app when they receive a ride request. They can choose whether or not to accept Share Rides and will be notified if a ride is eligible for a Share Ride when they receive the ride request in their driver app.
