A UTR number (unique transaction reference) is a unique reference code that is attached to every transfer sent to India. It is a 12-digit number that is issued for transactions done through NetBanking (NEFT or RTGS) . For IMPS and UPI transactions, only a reference number or transaction number is issued, which is also 12 digits long.
If you are using PhonePe and want to find the UTR number for a payment, you can follow these steps:
- Tap on "History" on your PhonePe app home screen.
- Select the relevant payment for which you would like to view the UTR number.
- You will see the 12-digit UTR number in the "Debited from" section on the screen.
If you are a PhonePe merchant and want to find the UTR number to track the status of your settlement, you can check the Settlements tab in the History section of your PhonePe Business app.
