Wisdom is the ability to contemplate and act productively using knowledge, experience, understanding, common sense, and insight. It is associated with attributes such as problem-solving, sincerity, and value-based consistent actions. Wisdom is not the same as knowledge, which is information gained through experience, reasoning, or acquaintance. Knowledge can exist without wisdom, but not the other way around. Wisdom is the fitting application of knowledge.

The Oxford English Dictionary defines wisdom as "Capacity of judging rightly in matters relating to life and conduct; soundness of judgment in the choice of means and ends; sometimes, less strictly, sound sense, esp. in practical affairs: opp. to folly;" also "Knowledge (esp. of a high or abstruse kind); enlightenment, learning, erudition".

Wisdom can be gained through various means, including experience, reflection, and guidance from a higher power. In the Bible, wisdom is described as a gift from God. James 1:5 states, “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you” .

In summary, wisdom is a combination of knowledge, experience, and insight that allows individuals to make sound judgments and act productively in various situations.
