Phil Collins has been dealing with serious health problems for over a decade. In 2007, he dislocated vertebrae in his neck during a Genesis reunion tour, which caused lasting nerve damage and ultimately forced him to give up drumming. He also suffered from acute pancreatitis and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. Despite his health issues, Collins continued to perform with his band Genesis for their final tour, but it is unlikely he will ever appear in concert again. His spinal deterioration has left him more immobile than he used to be. He retired from performing in March 2022, and his last performance was with Genesis, where he sang but did not play the drums due to his ongoing health issues. His son, Nic Collins, took over and played drums for his father for what would likely be Phil’s last time on stage. Collins daughter, Lily, has patched things up with him and regularly posts heartfelt messages on social media, expressing her love and gratitude for her dad.
