The exact cause of Maddy Cusacks death is yet to be established. An inquest into her death has been opened and adjourned, and the coroner is awaiting a police file and the medical cause of death. Derbyshire Police have said that her death is not being treated as suspicious. Cusack died at her home address in Lady Lea Road, Horsley, Derbyshire, on September 20, 2023, at the age of 27. She was formally identified by her father David after her death. Cusack was a football player for Sheffield United Football Club and worked at the club as a marketing executive. She was the Blades longest-serving female player and the first to reach 100 appearances.
