There are several ways to kill flying ants, including natural and chemical methods. Here are some ways to get rid of flying ants:

1. Boiling water: Pour boiling water into the hole at the top of the flying ant colony.

2. Dish soap and water: Mix ⅓ of liquid dish soap, ⅔ of water, and 5-10 drops of peppermint oil into a spray bottle. Spray the ants in flight or at rest. The soapy substance sticks to the ants bodies and dehydrates them, killing them on impact.

3. Natural repellents: Certain natural substances act as deterrents to flying ants. Lemon or orange peels, cinnamon sticks, or cloves can be strategically placed near entry points or areas where you’ve noticed ant activity. The strong scents of these natural repellents can discourage ants from venturing further into your home.

4. Glue traps: Also known as sticky fly traps, glue traps are another effective tool for eradicating flying ants. Place them around your home while focusing on the areas where you’ve noticed the ants congregate. Flying ants will fly directly into them and get stuck with the glue.

5. Vacuum: A vacuum is probably the easiest way to quickly remove a large swarm of flying ants.

6. Pesticides: Use a commercial pesticide to kill any visible flying (and non-flying) ants. Spray pesticides kill the ants on contact, but you’ll still have to do some work to deal with the ant infestation itself.

Its important to note that getting rid of flying ants for good requires attacking the source. As with any pest infestation, it will be difficult to remove the bugs for good without eliminating their home and breeding ground. If you are able to locate the general area of the colony, set a bait trap to eliminate the colony all at once. To make a bait trap mix any sweet substance such as honey or treacle with borax. Worker ants will collect this bait and take if back to the nest where it will kill the colony.
