Danielle Fishel was diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS), which is a very early form of breast cancer where the cancer cells are confined inside a milk duct and have not spread into the surrounding breast tissue. It is technically referred to as stage 0 breast cancer. Her diagnosis was specifically high-grade DCIS with micro-invasion, which means the cancer was caught at a very early and treatable stage before spreading significantly.
