Jim Kelly was diagnosed with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, specifically in his upper jaw (oral cavity) in 2013. He underwent major surgery to remove part of his upper jaw and surrounding structures, followed by reconstruction. The cancer recurred in 2014, leading to further treatments including radiation and chemotherapy. He has since faced additional treatments and reconstructive surgeries as part of his ongoing battle with oral cancer.
