Dave Coulier has early-stage p16 squamous cell carcinoma at the base of his tongue.
Background
This diagnosis came during a routine PET scan after he completed chemotherapy for stage 3 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, diagnosed in November 2024. The new cancer is unrelated to the lymphoma and linked to HPV-16 infection, possibly from up to 30 years ago.
Treatment and Prognosis
Coulier is undergoing 35 radiation treatments, set to finish by December 31, 2025. Doctors note a strong prognosis, with over 90% curability due to early detection. He credits routine check-ups for catching it early, saving his life twice.
