The primary language spoken in Palestine is Palestinian Arabic, which is a dialect of Standard Modern Arabic (Classical Arabic). Palestinian Arabic is a Levantine Arabic dialect subgroup, and it is spoken by Arab citizens of Israel and in Palestinian populations in the West Bank, Gaza, elsewhere within the Occupied Territories, and in the diaspora around the world. There is not a huge difference between the dialects of Gaza and the West Bank. In addition to Arabic, English and Hebrew are also widely spoken in Palestine. However, only a few Palestinians are able to speak Hebrew, and not all people, even a majority of Palestinians, can speak English fluently.
