In Pokemon Go, trading is only available for trainers that are level 10 or above. To trade, trainers must fulfill the following three criteria as a baseline:

• Be level 10 or above
• Be friends on Pokemon Go with the person youre trading with
• Be within 100 meters of them in real life

Once these conditions are met, trainers can begin trading. Trainers can trade any Pokemon except Shadow Pokemon, Mythical Pokemon, Pokemon that are not at full health, Pokemon obtained through illegitimate means, and their current Buddy Pokemon. Additionally, certain Pokemon are considered special trades, which require more Stardust to trade and can only be completed a limited number of times per day. These include Legendary Pokemon, Shiny Pokemon, Ultra Beasts, and Pokemon with forms not already in your Pokedex. When trading, the CP, HP, and other stats of the Pokemon will change, and trading certain Pokemon may affect how much Candy is required to evolve that specific Pokemon.
