"What Lies Beneath" is a 2000 American psychological supernatural horror film directed by Robert Zemeckis, starring Harrison Ford and Michelle Pfeiffer. The movie is set in Waterbury, Vermont, but the filming was done in West Addison, Vermont, where the Spencers house is shown in the movie. Other filming locations include Lake Champlain, New York, USA, Burlington, Vermont, USA, and Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, California, USA. The DAR State Park in West Addison was chosen as the prime location for filming, and the "haunted house" shown in the film was artificially constructed there by the production team and was disintegrated later. The filming of the movie began in April 1999 and was almost completed in 7 months. To shoot the final sequences and add special effects, the director and his production team reached Sony Pictures Studio in California.
