The executive branch of the U.S. government is primarily made up of the following components:

• The President : The head of the executive branch, responsible for implementing and enforcing laws passed by Congress. The President also serves as head of state and Commander-in-Chief of the armed forces

• The Vice President : Supports the President and is next in line to assume the presidency if needed. The Vice President also serves as President of the Senate

• The Cabinet : Composed of the heads of the 15 executive departments, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. Cabinet members advise the President and oversee major federal agencies. All Cabinet members hold the title "Secretary," except the Attorney General, who leads the Department of Justice

• Executive Departments and Agencies : These include the 15 executive departments (such as Defense, State, Treasury, and Homeland Security) and various independent agencies like the CIA, Environmental Protection Agency, Social Security Administration, and Securities and Exchange Commission. These entities carry out the day-to-day enforcement and administration of federal laws under the President’s authority

• Executive Office of the President (EOP) : This office includes the President’s immediate staff and advisory bodies such as the Office of Management and Budget and the National Security Council. The EOP supports the President in policy-making and administrative functions

Together, these components form the executive branch, which is responsible for enforcing the laws of the United States and managing the federal government's operations
