Erling Haaland is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Manchester City in the Premier League and the Norway national team. Although he was born in Leeds, England, in July 2000, he moved to Bryne, Norway, with his family when he was three years old. Haaland has represented Norway at various youth levels and made his senior international debut in September 2019. He is the son of the former Norwegian footballer Alfie Haaland and former womens heptathlon athlete Gry Marita Braut. Haaland could have been eligible to play for England due to his birthplace and British citizenship, but he chose to play for Norway because it felt natural to him. Therefore, he is of Norwegian nationality.
