Ron DeSantis is an American politician and the current governor of Florida. He was born on September 14, 1978, in Jacksonville, Florida. DeSantis is of Italian descent, and his maternal great-great-grandfather, Salvatore Storti, immigrated to the U.S. during the Italian diaspora in 1904. His wife, Casey DeSantis, is an Emmy Award-winning television host, and they have two children together.
