Rory McIlroy is from Northern Ireland and is a professional golfer who plays on both the European and PGA Tours. He was born on May 4, 1989, in Holywood, County Down, Northern Ireland. McIlroy has been ranked number one in the world and has won four majors, all before the age of 25. He has a net worth of approximately $170 million.

McIlroy has self-identified as Irish, Northern Irish, and British. He carries a British passport, although he usually is reluctant to discuss his nationality at length. In June 2014, McIlroy declared that he would represent Ireland (if he qualified) at the 2016 Olympic Summer Games, where golf became an Olympic event for the first time since 1904.
