Joe Biden is the 46th President of the United States. He assumed office on January 20, 2021, after winning the 2020 presidential election against Republican incumbent President Donald Trump. Prior to his presidency, Biden served as the 47th Vice President of the United States under President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2017. He also represented Delaware in the U.S. Senate for 36 years before becoming Vice President. Therefore, Joe Biden is not only the 46th President of the United States but also the second person to have been both Vice President and President since George H. W. Bush.
