George Santos is a member of the United States House of Representatives from New Yorks 3rd congressional district, serving since 2023. He was elected to Congress in 2022 as a member of the Republican Party, after running unsuccessfully in 2020 against incumbent Democratic representative Thomas Suozzi. Santos is the first openly LGBT member elected to Congress as a Republican. He was born on July 22, 1988, and is the son of immigrants from Brazil.
