According to the U.S. Census Bureau, as of September 25, 2023, the Black or African American alone population in the United States is 13.6% . The Office of Minority Health reports that in 2021, 40.1 million people in the United States were non-Hispanic black alone, which represents 12.1 percent of the total population of 331.9 million. The Pew Research Center also reports that the Black population in the U.S. has grown by 30% since 2000, rising from 36.2 million then to 47.2 million in 2021. Therefore, it can be concluded that approximately 12-13% of the U.S. population is Black.
