Anakin Skywalker, a central character in the Star Wars franchise, was born on the desert planet of Tatooine in the Outer Rim Territories. He was discovered as a slave on Tatooine by Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi. Anakin was believed to be the prophesied Chosen One who would bring balance to the Force. He was a Jedi Knight who later became a Sith Lord known as Darth Vader.
