Two senators were reported to have died recently. Senator Dianne Feinstein of California died on September 29, 2023, at the age of 90. She was the longest-serving female US senator in history and had served in the Senate since 1992. On the other hand, North Dakota state senator Doug Larsen, his wife, and their two young children died in a plane crash in Utah on October 2, 2023. Doug Larsen was a Republican first elected to the North Dakota Senate in 2020.
