One of the most infamous serial killers who ate his victims was Jeffrey Dahmer, also known as the Milwaukee Cannibal or the Milwaukee Monster. Dahmer killed and dismembered seventeen males between 1978 and 1991, and many of his later murders involved necrophilia, cannibalism, and the permanent preservation of body parts—typically all or part of the skeleton. According to an interview with Emmy-winning producer Nancy Glass, Dahmer chose to eat his victims because he wanted them to be a part of him, and he was desperately lonely and ashamed of being gay. While there are other killers who have eaten their victims, Dahmer is one of the most well-known examples.
