Ten out of the 50 U.S. states have alligators. The following states have alligators:
- Louisiana: Louisiana has the most alligators of all of the states, with more than 2 million wild alligators across the state, with an additional 1 million located on farms.
- Florida: Florida is home to 1.3 million alligators.
- Texas: Texas has around 400,000-500,000 alligators.
- Georgia: Georgia has 200,000-250,000 alligators.
- South Carolina: South Carolina has 100,000 alligators.
- Alabama: Alabama has 70,000 alligators.
- Mississippi: Mississippi has 32,000-38,000 alligators.
- Arkansas: Arkansas has 2,000-3,000 alligators.
- North Carolina: North Carolina has 1,000 alligators.
- Oklahoma: Oklahoma has 100-200 alligators.
It is worth noting that alligators are cold-blooded and live in warm areas.
