The Big 12 Conference is adding four new members: BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, and Houston. These four teams will begin competing in Big 12 athletics beginning in the summer of 2023. Beginning July 1, 2025, the Big 12 Conference will be comprised of 12 universities: Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, BYU, UCF, Cincinnati, Houston, TCU, and West Virginia.
However, there are also reports that the Big 12 Conference will be adding three more teams from the Pac-12: Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah. These three teams will officially become members of the Big 12 in the 2024-25 academic year, bringing the total number of teams in the conference to 16.
