As of the 2024-25 academic year, the Pac-12 Conference has only two remaining full members:
- Oregon State University
- Washington State University
These two schools are operating as the sole members of the Pac-12 following the departure of 10 other members in 2024 to other conferences such as the Big Ten, Big 12, and ACC
. Looking ahead to 2026, the Pac-12 plans to add six new members, primarily from the Mountain West Conference:
- Boise State
- Colorado State
- Fresno State
- San Diego State
- Utah State
- Gonzaga (non-football member)
This expansion will bring the conference back to eight football-playing members plus Gonzaga as a non-football member, aiming to stabilize and rebuild the conference after the major realignment
. In summary:
- 2024-25: Only Oregon State and Washington State remain in the Pac-12.
- Starting 2026: The Pac-12 will include Oregon State, Washington State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State, Utah State, and Gonzaga (non-football)
The conference is actively rebuilding but still needs additional members to regain full Power 5 status and meet NCAA requirements for automatic bids in certain competitions
