To renew your Texas drivers license, you will need to bring the following documents to your local driver license office:
- An application for renewal
- Proof of U.S. citizenship (if you have not previously provided proof) or updated evidence of lawful presence
- Proof of identity
- Proof of social security number
In addition to these documents, you may also need to bring:
- Your most recently issued Texas driver license or identification card
- The audit number from your most recently issued Texas driver license or identification card
- A printer or email address to print or email your temporary driver license and payment receipt, if you renew online
- A valid credit card (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express)
- The last four digits of your Social Security Number
If you are renewing your license in person, you will need to complete the renewal application prior to arriving at the driver license office. If you are renewing online or by phone, you will need a printer to print your temporary license or ID and payment receipt, and a valid credit card.
