Tyranitar is a dual-type Rock and Dark Pokémon. It is often described as a large, armored, dinosaur-like creature and is classified in-game as a Rock/Dark type with a strong, battle-oriented nature. It has weaknesses to Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, Bug, Steel, and Fairy moves, and it resists many other types due to its sturdy rock hide. In the Pokémon games, Tyranitar evolves from Pupitar and, in many media entries, is noted for its powerhouse stats and Sand Stream or other abilities depending on the game generation.
